Welcoming Bea Wohl and Debut Collection Motorway Service Station Blues

Cars speed by on a motorway.

We’re delighted to welcome non-binary academic, writer, and poet Bea Wohl (They/Them) to the Reconnecting Rainbows Press family, with the upcoming release of Motorway Service Station Blues, landing 1st November 2025.

This atmospheric and lyrical debut collection is a road map through love, loss, and longing: from lay-bys and late nights to the lives we almost led. With poems that capture the liminal spaces of both motorways and memory, Bea writes with aching precision about queer identity, travel, and the bittersweet nature of being far from home. A US immigrant to the UK, their perspective adds quiet richness to a growing canon of queer migration narratives.

Spanning snapshots of relationships, friendships, and those strange, in-between hours at service stations and border crossings, Motorway Service Station Blues invites readers to pause, reflect, and breathe. It’s perfect for poetry lovers, tender-hearted wanderers, and anyone who’s ever felt caught between destinations.

“I’m really excited to publish these poems. This collection has three core themes – heart break, family, and being transgender in 2025.”
